How To Answer Tell Me An Accomplishment You Are Proud Of Facebook2TweetLinkedInPinEmailShares2 Talking about a past accomplishment can be difficult particularly if you attempt to think of one on the spot. However, if you prepare an answer and really think of something you have achieved professionally or personally, it will allow the interviewer to see your potential within the company through seeing your past achievements. Prepare Prior to your interview PREPARE your answer Plan Once you have thought of a possible answer PLAN out how you will structure it. Describe the scenario where your accomplishment took place. Maybe this took place in a previous role and you were working on a project under a tight deadline but the outcome was successful. It is always best to set the scene and give the interviewer a greater understanding of the situation. You can then explain how the project you worked on led to a positive outcome to which you are proud of. Rather than providing a short and brief answer, which shows a lack of thought and insight into your accomplishment. Present Lastly, practice how you will PRESENT your answer. You need to make sure your delivery is confident and youre self-assured in the fact that this was a great accomplishment. If you answer the question with hesitation and a lack of confidence, it shows uncertainty and a lack of self-assurance. You want to convince the interviewer that what you did created an impact and made a difference. Example for the experienced candidate When I first started my previous role, I felt the companys way of doing things had not evolved. I believed they were missing out on opportunities due to their lack of innovation. After the first initial few weeks, I devised and proposed a new strategic marketing plan. Incorporating a few additional digital channels that the company were reluctant to use. I independently worked on the marketing plan with the ultimate aim to attract new clients. I was patient when seeing how our target audience responded to the campaign. Ultimately the results denoted the campaign was well received and lead to new client leads. Which would have been unlikely to gain had I not recognised a gap in potential. This is something I am professionally proud of because I recognised room for improvement, took a risk and worked hard at something I believed would benefit the company. To which it did. Example for the entry-level candidate I was undertaking an extensive project during my time as an undergraduate when I was faced with a difficult situation. The project required me to work with one other classmate to create a business plan for a company interested in working with the university. My partner failed to turn up most days and didnt put in an equal amount of effort. I decided to take control and lead the project myself. I created the plan and presented my ideas to the client. To which they were interested and impressed I had proposed an achievable proposal. Although I took on the extra workload, I made the decision to go the extra mile and prove to myself and others that I was capable of completing the project with limited help. This something I look back on and think I am proud of the work I produced. TOP TIP! Use the STAR framework (situation, task, action, result) when answering the question.
